I started taking Trazadone a few days ago and I am having a weird taste in my mouth and a the same weird smell in my nose. Is this normal? Does it go away after taking it for a while? The Rx says take 1 to 3 pills before bed. I am on it so I can sleep. The pills are 50 mg. each. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
Does Trazadone have a side affect of a nasty taste in your mouth and a nasty smell in your sinus/ n?

Hello I have the same like a sour smell up nose and throat and it's really bothering me. I want to know as well how long does it take to go away too.
Hi queenieeleenie. I also once was on trazadone. I did not have a bad taste in the mouth. If you look at the top of the page, the search engine, enter trazadone. then click on side-effects. It does mention abad taste in mouth as a side effect, but its the minority who experience it. The percentage is low, yet you must be part of that percentage. Its a sound medication, as far as helping your sleep. I think you'll be pleased. If the taste and smell doesn't dissapear, you might mention it to your doctor. best to you pledge.
Having a bad taste in your mouth and sinus congestion are both side effects of taking Trazadone but be sure you mention them to your Dr as they can also be signs and symptoms of sinus infection so be sure your Dr rules out any need for treating a sinus infection.
Hey there DzooBaby. ha! We meet again, Both posted at the same time. Cooling off here today, only a high of 92. Feels like winter :-0) We'll see you. and theres still coffee (iced if you prefer).
Hi pledge, hi DzooBaby,
how's everyone doing? I take trazodone and I had the sinus congestion and the dry mouth side effects, but since I've been taking it for sleep for about 8 months now, it's gotten better. I have the taste and smell thing but it's once in a blue moon.
Doing well thanks strmcliffae46 and yourself? Good I hope. ha! See, I learned something knew again. We've talked about Trazadone in the past as a sleeping medication, more than its use as an anti-depressant, and no one really mentioned the bad taste in the mouth and sinus problem-side-effect. Now, two people. :-0) Go figure. We'll see you strmcliffae46.
