A more powerful symptom of attack is of course the pain, but I get red and my boss says, "You're getting an attack aren't you?"
I get red flushness of skin from chest to face & hot before a diverticulitis attack - anyone else?

yes i know what your going through, i had the same symptoms today, hot, flushing red face, very bad pain on my "L" side all the time, im still feeling the symptoms saomewhat now, stress brings it on also i noticed... so your not alone there.
I flush like that when I've eaten something I'm allergic too. It's my first sign. My ears feel like the're on fire! I have diverticulitis so maybe that has something to do with it too, but I run & read the label when this happens or it's when I'm sneaking ice cream (baad girl), & there is always corn syrup or whey or something in there I shouldn't have. Good Luck to you, I know how you feel.
I've never flushed in response to a diverticulitis attack but I flush in response to stress! If I'm nervous or stressed in a situation I flush the same way-bright red warm skin from my chest to my face. I cant tell you how many times I've had procedures done and they think I'm having an allergic reaction because I flush from the stress. People who are very fair skinned are more prone to flushing than those with darker skin. I would think that a diverticulitis attack would be a stressor!
Thank you. My flushing usually coincides with the onset of the pain in the colon and I immediately know what to expect next so it probably is a stress and dreadness attack as well.
My father had diverticulitis and has had to be hospitalized with it a few times. My grandmother had it too and she had to have several inches of intestine removed because of it. It is one bad thing in the family that I didnt get! In fact, it may be the only bad thing I didnt get! Not yet anyway. I understand it is quite painful. I can imagine it would be something one would dread!
