i am currently using the the round pill and my legs have become very painful. a friend said she suffered the same effect until the doctor switched her to the caplet. should i have my doctor switch my Rx as well?

Both are generic Tramadol 50mg made by two different pharmaceutical companies (Zydus and NorthStar).
You can ask your pharmacist to order the one you prefer. Although the amount of active ingredient is the same in both, the inert ingredients (fillers) vary slightly and that may be causing the problem.
