Hi, jenn!
Both lorazepam (Ativan) and alprazolam (Xanax) are drugs in the class of benzodiazepines and are prescribed for anxiety and seizure disorders. The main difference is that lorazepam starts working faster and leaves your system faster which reduces the chances for toxicity and side effects.

The link is great. I never knew you can do that.
You can post links from any material you find on Drugs.com but only rarely, if ever, can you post a link from an outside source. Not sure why???
Both medication are from the same drug class; benzodiazepines. The only difference is that users may experience different side effects or users may react differently to both medication. I hope this helps.
