I'm 25 years old and had my last shot of Depo in January of this year. I was on Depo for about 6 years. It really messed up my body - 4 years without a period followed by 2 years of non-stop bleeding was not a good time. It's been over 6 months without Depo now and I'm trying to get pregnant. My period finally returned fairly normal over the past 3 months. Has anyone had any success getting pregnant after Depo? I sure haven't and I'm petrified I never will... :(

I was on the depo shot for about 4 years when I went to change birth controls because it gave me very bad stomach issues being on it for so long. Then during the switch to a pill I got my period back fairly quick but didn’t get pregnant for almost 10 months after getting off the shot.
Im soon going to be 25, I was on the depo my last shot was sept 2018, so coming up to a year. I first had a period in March 2019 and then i haven’t had it in July or yet in August. Could it be because of the depo and my body still adjusting? I’m not pregnant and I really want to.. any ideas?
The Manufacturer advises that it can take up to 18 months to regain your fertility after Depo, even after just 1 shot.
I am currently experiencing the same problem. I been off Depo Provera for 4 years going on 5 and I am still having difficulties trying to have a child. I have done ton of research and it states on the FDA website and Pfizer site that “return to fertility” should be within 31 months since the last depo shot. It has been past 31 months for me and the long term side effects I am facing due to depo is still on going. If I knew what I knew now I wouldn’t have NEVER considered using this birth control method.
I'm having the same exact problem. Were you able to get pregnant? Because I see this post is from 2012. I've been on the depo shot for 6 years and off it for about 3-4 months. I've been trying to get pregnant soon with my fiance he has a 11 year old and an 8 year old with his ex-wife and I have a six-year-old and we're not getting any younger LOL so if anybody has any feedback please let me know.
So I'm a 32 . I was a depo for 10 years. Got off that did a bunch of tests, uterus and all that other stuff took me two years to get pregnant with my husband . Just remember having sex with your husband could be a fun doesn't have to always be stressful it takes all the fun out of it . It can take a long time but it could be totally worth it when I happens . It's definitely not as simple as the other ones I would choose not to get back on this after pregnancy If I was planning on having more kids in the future which I am but if you're not then I would get back on it .
Same here I'm 25 trying to start a family I was on depo and I can't seem to get pregnant after 3 long years of trying it cause me and my husband to not getting along I wish there is something I could do its so sad
Go to your family planning clinic and get them to fix it and do hormonal tests with your partner.I'm 19 and I got a depo shot 23/12/2015 and never went for my second as I wanted a baby. I've started getting my old blood and should start ovulating this year by Christmas 2016. I hope I get pregnant it's all I've ever wanted.
I been the shot 2 Year and i been off of it for 5 months and just it today!
Hi, I was on depo for 11 years, I came off it as me and my fiance wanted a baby. It took 11 months for me to get pregnant then had a missed miscarriage the baby did not have a heart beat and stopped growing at 6.5 weeks. I think to myself should i have not tried to get pregnant till after 18 months when your own hormones return to normal. Worrying that due to the depo it has left me with low progesterone and this is what has caused my mmc its not always a chromosome abnormality and people need to stop thinking that.
I got pregnant around 6 months after my last depo shot. I wasn't trying to get pregnant. Before my last depo shot was up I got an IUD (mirena) then after about 6 months I had really heavy bleeding. Ended up going to the ER because i thought i lost my tampon & they never found it but the doctor accidently removed my IUD. Then had some issues with my insurance covering my birth control pills spent like 2 wks with no birth control after that. About a month later no period & was pregnant. I was on birth control for like 5 years. My doctor told me it would take double the amount of time (18 mons or so) for me to get pregnant the day i ever decided to get off birth control so obviously i wasn't worried about getting pregnant those 2 wks i had no birth control. Everyone's body is different. Don't stress about getting pregnant & enjoying being with your husband.
I'm sure once you take your mind off trying to get pregnant you will. I'm positive God will send you that baby that you so much desire.
God Bless!

Agnus Castus - herbal tincture from health stores. I prefer the A. Vogel brand.
Had my hormones rebalanced within 1 - 2 months.
I sympathize. It took me over a year to get pregnant after depo. We used the shettles method and Conceive Easy.
I know this is an old thread but I'm commenting for other people that may want help/advice. I was on the depo for about 2 1/2 years. I was 16 when I first had it. I came off it in March had my first period in June and was pregnant by September and now I have a 3 month old little boy. I wasn't expecting it to be that fast as I thought it would take anything from a year to 2 years. Every woman is different but don't give up hope if your trying. It will happen when the time is right your body just needs to adjust and return to normal :) if you are concerned about your fertility go to the doctor and get some advice but I say just keep trying and enjoy it while your trying lol it will happen eventually :)
