I'm a 45 year old male and was recently diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my hip joint and advised by a general physician to take a double dose of Advil every 12 hours (total 440 mg dose) for inflammation and pain. A tad bit overweight, but very active and otherwise in fairly good health... any dangers or risks?
What are the dangers of a double dose of 220 mg naproxen sodium (Aleve)?

I'm not sure if you're talking about advil or aleve, but there is no danger, since the OTC forms are not even half of the prescription dose.
I'm referring to Aleve... Advil is ibuprofin
Yea, I'm aware of that, but you asked about both. My answer stands for either of them.
My apologies,I mistyped the question,I was asking about Aleve, not Advil..thanks for your input,I appreciate it. Upon further research online,I've found numerous statements confirming that also... again, many thanks
