Can I take cyprodine during pregnancy?

Answers

Marvell 2 June 2013

Cyprodine contains cyproheptadine. It is best to avoid cyproheptadine in pregnancy, unless absolutely necessary.

Cyproheptadine has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Cyproheptadine is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
