I started taking Lexapro for a week now. I found myself completely can't ejaculate after a few tries. My doctor told me the problem might due to my psychological health and ask me to continue with the medication. Should I continue with Lexapro or change doctor?
Should I continue Lexapro when I cant ejaculate?

Hi, Kenny!
This a common problem with antidepressant/anxiolytics. From the literature on Lexapro on Drugs.com:
"Genitourinary
Very common (10% or more of users): Ejaculation disorder (up to 14% of users)"
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
Unfortunately there is no predicting how long it may last or whether or not it's a permanent situation. I'd give it another week or two and see how things go before making a decision to try a different medication.
Best regards and I hope this will resolve for you.
Hi. After 2 weeks of Lexapro. I found my ejaculation problem had been resolved. Thanks God. But i found another problem. I used to drink 5-6 beers with my buddies during normal Friday outing. Now after only one drink, I found myself almost drunk. Is it normal? What are the advice for interactions between alcohol and Lexapro? The.
It's never a good idea to mix alcohol and antidepressants I'm afraid:
"Lexapro (escitalopram) and Alcohol/Food Interactions
There is 1 alcohol/food/lifestyle interaction with Lexapro (escitalopram):
Moderate
escitalopram food
Moderate Food Interaction
Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of escitalopram such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with escitalopram. Do not use more than the recommended dose of escitalopram, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns."
This interaction may lessen with time but you need to be very careful with even one beer/drink, at least for now. If you feel you need a drink do it in a safe environment.
Thx. Bro
