I currently take 100 mg sertraline and 300 mg bupropion for major depression disorder and general anxiety disorder for years now. I have gained a lot of weight, is there another combination of drugs or drug that I can take to reduce the weight gain?

These types of drugs have caused me weight gain. I got the book The Obesity Code. It’s really helped. It explains how our society’s, trend in this century of grazing and snacking instead of single meals has encouraged weight gain. He says that, keeping higher , although steady, insulin levels caused by frequent eating , had increased insulin. Periods of high insulin after a meal, then followed by non eating periods is best. Insulin drives cravings and fat storage. Also no drinking sugar during the non-eating periods.
Btw for depression, this drink is invaluable to me . Green drink: fill a nutribullit with spinach and blueberries. Blend and drink. Store preferably under 48 hours. If you want to know my other supplement tricks just let me know.
Hi, again!
These meds, like all antidepressants, can potentially cause metabolic changes and subsequently weight gain. Just because you have trouble with this combo doesn’t necessarily mean you will with another.
You might want to ask your doctor about the bupropion…sertraline may be very slightly more weight neutral.
If you want to try other meds it may mean doing some trial and error to see how you respond.
