Do Dr's prescribe any other kind of cough syrup other than with codeine
Codeine/Promethazine - Does doctors only prescribed cough syrup with codeine?

420day; Yes they can give you whatever you want but you have to tell them you don't want anything with codeine,The reason for the codeine is that is what helps stop a cough it's still one of the best cough suppressants made to date. But most of the same syrups do come without codeine all you have to do is ask.Or say you don't want anything with codeine Like one of the most common prescriptions is Robitussin a witch is the same one you can buy over the counter except it has no codeine.You could go and talk with the Pharmacist and tell him or her you want a cough syrup close to what you have but you don't want any codeine like the prescription one. And drink plenty of water with it.to help break up anything that could be in the chest.
