I’m on nearly week 6 on 20mg of citalopram. Can anyone tell me that at this stage you can have a couple of good days & then a couple of bad days. Is this how the medication works whilst still trying to level out. I know most people are saying give it a couple of Months rather than weeks, which I am going to do. Can’t wait for another good day.

Wendy,
You're still in that adjustment period of ups and downs and it may take a bit longer to completely level out and stabilize.
The fact that you've had some improvement shows the medication is beginning to work but have you talked to your doctor about your bad days? I wonder if a dosage adjustment might be helpful?
Thank u wildcatvet.
I spoke to the dr about a week ago saying that the anxiety was still bad & said to give it another couple of weeks & get back to her. Since then I had a couple of afternoons anxiety free. Yesterday & today it’s got worse again. I’ll give it another week or so, if no better like u say might have to up the dose. I was on this medication 4 years ago, tried to come off but the depression, anxiety & panic came back. Dr put me back on 20 mgs but don’t remember having weeks of it being this bad when starting.
