Ummm, I would be very skeptical of taking more than the recommended maxiumum of celebrex which is 200mgs. I have taken it for years, first thing in the morning and have asked my doctor about increasing to 400mgs and he has said absolutely not. Celebrex is a medication that builds to a certain blood level and than this must be maintained therefore the need to take the same time each day. It should not wear off within a 24 hour period if you are taking the medication on a consistent schedule. Taking more than the recommended 200mgs is dangerous to your GI tract. I would seek another opinion personally.
When Vioxx was taken off the market I was put on this stuff. Because of the side effects I got I would have you ask the Doc this question. I juggled my dose around and wound up getting "sick," and I would not want that to happen to you as a result of outside advice. Play it safe and see if your Doc approves. Best to you. Hope this helps a bit.
