I recently had three moles removed, and the doctor used Drysol to stop the bleeding. Is this an acceptable practice? Everything I've read said not to use it on an open wound.

Yes Drysol is used by doctors to stop bleeding (hemostasis) in certain medical procedures such as mole removal.
