If taking pre employment 12 panel urine test, can the lab tell the difference between heroin, Norco/Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, or any other opiates?

Thanks for your answer, but it doesn't fully answer in detail. I know under 12 panel test there are only 2 part that distinguish opiates; opiate and oxycodone. Heroin breaks down to codeine. So my question is that would they ask for a prescription or do a tox screen? Anyone work at a lab?

I totally agree They can deff tell the diff on all drugs.Just drink ALOT of water for as long as you can and try to flush out any meds you shouldn't have. Do this for at least 5 days But Don't over do it. If your uren is really clear be sure and take a vitamin to put color back in it.Hope this helps And be safe

Yes. A 5 panel urine test can detect the difference. Urine tests detect metabolites. Not the drug itself. Every opiate has its own unique metabolite. Heroin has a metabolite completely unique to heroin, along with all opiates. Oxycodones metabolite is oxymorphone. A thorough drug test does not just test positive or negative. Google drug metabolites and read. This is how urinalysis works.

To be as quick and to point as possible, "yes". I believe thats why they call it a twelve point test. In def. terms, it will detect 12 different areas of useage in your body. Such as the simple, vicodin is for mild to modertate pain and is in the opiate bracket. Meth. cocaine and weed are, (sorry i cant spell very well, just sound it out though and u should understand) bar-bitch-u-ets, so on and so on. Over 50% of drugs are considered downers. But, the thing to be worried about mostly, is that this 12 panel test may also be able to detect if you are or did take some kind of a flushing or detoxification source. There are many different liquid forms and a few pill one that you can buy at any drug store to flush your sytem out faster. However, it very plausable that it will be found in amongst everything else you have taken.
Depending on how much and often, as well as how far away it is before taking this test, cranberry juice and lots and lots of water is very helpful. A little exercise as well never hurts, bc everything you've taking, after doing any kind of workout, will begin to swet its way out of your pours.
