From raging hormones to nothing... Back story. I had a hysterectomy at age 27 I'm now two months shy of 42. After the hysterectomy I opted to not take hormones because of risks involved. I have not had a sex drive since. I finally mustered up the courage to inquire with my doctor and was placed on bupropion hcl 150's oh my goodness did that work!!! I lost weight, my sex drive went through the roof until few months later, then my dose was upped and same thing happened again. I have now been taking 300 bupropion hcl for about three months and have hit another plato. What should I do now? I'm dry dry dry no sex drive and mowing through food again like nobodies business. I'm on an emotional roller coaster again. Please any advice is appreciated!!!
What to do if bupropion stops working for sexual dysfunction?

Hi, Overnight!
The maximum dosage for bupropion is in most cases 400-450mg/day so you may have a little wiggle room there.
Beyond that there are other prescription medications that might help before you have to re-consider hormonal therapy.
Talk with your doctor about the options available to you.
Best regards and good luck to you.
Hi I work in the pharmacy industry for the side effects of menopausal symptoms there is some over-the-counter herbal extracts that I’ve heard work really well one of them is wild yam cream. it’s a natural source of female hormones estrogen. for the dryness there are fish oil Suppositors and other suppositories for vagina dryness on Amazon. I heard that Suzanne Somers claims to be still sexually active at 75 and swears by her hormone medication‘s which help keep vagina tissue healthy that helps with vagina dryness, Painful intercourse and sex drive. if you’re not getting any estrogen or progesterone from any other outside sources and you’ve had a hysterectomy it’s hard for your body to not have symptoms of lack of sex drive and dryness. I hope this helps!
