I take Xtamza ER for my chronic pancreatitis pain. It's a long acting oxycodone. The dose is 13.5 mg twice a day. It's fairly effective but I think I'm going to talk to my pain doctor about increasing or changing to something else. Just curious about others luck. I've been dealing with it for 15 years and it is from alcohol abuse. I'm sober now. I don't drink a drop!!! I also take enzyme supplements and I'm on a low fat diet.
What's the best pain relief you chronic pancreatitis patients have found (including opioids)?

I have had pancreatitis. I was given Demerol (aka meperidine or penthedine). Although this drug is not used as much now, two doctors told me it is the best pain medicine to specifically treat pancreatitis.
