Basically the More you look up a generic form from any one Pharmacy. Your Mind is going to respond to the negative answer's down the list of Post's. The WORST thing YOU can possibly DO is research the Pharmaceutica's and compare them to other people's good or bad response's. Power Of Suggestion!!! I took a Epic Pink 20mg Adderall last night for the first time since 2013. Worked incredibly for 12 hours and cleaning all night. Now after reading review's on Epic Adderall. Negative review's and BINGO, I feel worse than I did before taking one yesterday having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and RA and recovering over RSV and Sepsis. After reading other's response's I could take non Generic Adderall, The Real Thing and it wouldn't do a thing.. This I promise You!!! Guess that is why I have been a Medical Researcher for Emory University in Atlanta Ga for 35 year's dealing with these type things..
Your MIND WILL TRICK YOU, so STOP RESEARCHING and let the medicine do it's thing. Why do You all think that Placebo's work so good in people anyway.. Sorry. But There just isn't enough difference in chemical struture's from one generic to another.. Trust Me or Laugh at me.. Just saying...
amphetamine aspartate monohydrate 25% – stimulant
(12.5% levo; 12.5% dextro)
amphetamine sulfate 25% – stimulant
(12.5% levo; 12.5% dextro)
dextroamphetamine saccharate 25% – stimulant
(0% levo; 25% dextro)
dextroamphetamine sulfate 25% – stimulant
(0% levo; 25% dextro)
I take a total of 60mg per day. This was the first time I received the pink round pills with the imprint € 344 manufactured by Epic Pharmaceutical. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! My family can’t stand to be around me because it’s like I took an aspirin. I went to the pharmacy and there wasn’t anything they could do, but the pharmacist told me to take “TRIPLE THE DOSE”. I did a double take & blurted out “are you f*^king kidding me?” I’m a nurse and I know a lot about many different medications, but I can assure you, unless a doctor writes this in the actual prescription, DONT TAKE IT!!! So here I am, taking aspirin like Adderall & having the worst bout of impaired cognition, major fatigue and general just crap!!! I’ve never experienced this either as a nurse giving a med to a patient or me experiencing it as the patient. What gives? My insurance company isn’t going to pay for another 30 day supply.
Epic Pharmaceuticals had their generic Adderall recalled about a year ago. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I’m bypassing Epic and going straight to the FDA. Any other suggestions??
30mg by Teva/ On one side the imprint reads 30, the other side reads B 974
In my opinion it by far the best.
I have found that the Lannett version of generic Adderall is no different than Teva. They both have a sweet taste and I personally can’t tell the difference. Any other version is junk. My psychiatrist sends my Rx to the pharmacy specifying only dispense Teva or Lannett. He has told me many patients who end up with any other genetic eventually calls the office and wants a new prescription.
I was having some issues with Mallinckrodt generic as well. So I spoke to my doctor and explained to him how my heart was racing and they made me feel awful. He called the pharmacy for me and found me a better generic and insisted I never be given that one again.
So interesting how people have such different reactions. I started on Mallinckrodt years ago and it was fine. Then one time I filled it and it was Teva and it was so awful. I felt so tired, depressed, and had a horrible headache. I then tried Aurobindo and that was fine but I’d have a racing heartbeat at times. Recently all the pharmacies have Mallinckrodt again and they still work fine. I’d probably say I prefer Mallinckrodt.
I am not sure if there is a connection between people having bad side effects of mallinckrodt brand adderall after initially taking teva, or I respond very well to 2020(not sure if they changed formula) mallinckrodt. But Teva brand gives me the side effects all of you suffered from. As well as name brand. But I respond best to mallinckrodt brand. Even vyvanse is too much for me
TEVA. Also, you should avoid aurobindo. It is completely ineffective for me, and actually makes me fall asleep.
I just started using Capsule Pharmacy, and you can request specific manufacturers! It’s only in NYC right now but I think they are expanding next year. It’s kind of amazing!
Teva by far, but I read and heard from Pharmacist and reliable sources that their patent is up July 2020. :)
In my opinion, Teva currently makes one of the better generic versions of Adderall. Ask your doctor to write on the prescription to "dispense Teva only". If you are unable to tolerate the generics, your doctor can fill out a Prior Authorization for the brand Adderall. Since the co-pay will be more costly (since the brand Adderall IR is usually a Tier 3, or higher), there is also a Tier Lowering Exception Form that your doctor may be unaware of, which would make the co-pay more affordable. Having said that, please check your insurance plan's new 2020 formulary. BCBS plans who use Express Scripts, and/or Optum for home delivery, will be dropping the Adderall IR brand--many other carriers will be doing the same. Starting Jan 1, 2020, if you go to a doctor who doesn't have electronic prescribing capability, Optum will not accept paper prescriptions for controlled substances. Your local pharmacy will still accept them. This is not a mandate from the DEA, just a decision made by Optum.
Your problem is you MUST call pharmacy, ask who the manufacturer is, if not Teva, (used to be Barr) then keep calling until u find who does have Teva, Walgreens is most consistent.
There is a huge diff between Amp salts & the dextro junk. Have been taking this for many, many moons and know what's hot and what's not. Personally, from much experience, Teva is the best, hands down. The brand Adderall is, to me, like dextro, prob is.
Only get Teva.
Hope I helped.
Teva only Walgreens sells it in my city. Since getting a bad batch of even Teva I have asked my Neurologist to prescribe the NAME BRAND. If you have insurance do a Prior Authorization to make them pay for it because its NOT the same. Every single dose of Adderall name brand has been consistent and full force.

I too, was taking Teva 10 mg. tablets (twice daily) and had no issues but recently I was given Mallinckrodt and it's absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I was told that they have the "Same" active ingredients and if that's true, then the bad side effects must be caused by the inert ingredients used by Mallinckrodt. At any rate; I would rather take nothing at all than take Mallinckrodt.
The orange oval or "pumpkin" pills made by Teva Pharmaceuticals is the best. Next would be the round orange pill with E 404 made by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. The absolute worst is the pink round made by Core Pharmaceutical and the white octagon by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals
I had been taking the Mallinckrodt ones for a long time and my pharmacy just refilled my script with the Teva brand. I feel like they aren't working at all. The M ones weren't great for several reasons but I hardly feel these Teva ones at all. Do you know if they work better or more quickly if you chew them?
Teva is the best by far! I tried the white, and doesn't give the same effect. I tried the yellow and that made me feel sick and gave me a smacky feeling. I finally found that Walgreens and Walmart carry Teva by me, so start with them. When I would call to ask around, I would tell the pharmacist the other brands made me feel sick. I never had a problem with anyone questioning me.
I hear you, dmb073075. I'm a TEVA kinda guy as well. Sometimes my pharmacy will give me SANDOZ and they work just as well. One thing I'll add--and it's for everyone in our group's information as well as yours: If you're not sure what brand of Adderall you're going to receive from your pharmacy, ASK THEM what brand they're going to give you at refill time. If it's one of those s-h-i-t brands you can say no dice and state your preference. It's important to say this WHEN YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THE PHARMACIST and not after you leave the store. At least in New York State (where I live), once you leave the premises and are therefore out of the sight of the pharmacist and home--if you've got one of those el-crapola brands, you're stuck with it.
I take Adderall 30mg daily and the brand I get at my local Ma & Pa pharmacy is TEVA. My experience has been positive.
As for Mallinckrodt--I've heard nothing but bad press from other group members, and now you've stepped up to the proverbial plate and added your horror story. As a patient--and a customer--you have the right to insist on receiving the brand you wish. If they jerk you around--look for another pharmacy. I suggest the grass-roots Ma Pa pharmacies; they get to know you and you get to know them.
I did a bunch of research in my panic state and ended up getting the correct brand the next time I went to the pharmacy. There was a shortage of the Teva brand at the end of last month, which should be resolved by now. I also did a comparison of the ingredients on the Corepharma (which I was eventually ok with after a short transition period), Mallinckrodt, Teva, and Aurolife. The Mallinckrodt has a much shorter "inactive" ingredients list and is very similar to the Corepharma. The main difference between Corepharma/Mallinckrodt & Teva is Teva uses Amphetamine Aspartate Monohydrate as opposed to Amphetamine Aspartate. It takes more of the former to equal the latter. As we know, we are very sensitive beings with incredibly on-point nervous systems, so it is definitely worthwhile to look into ingredients lists.
Another thing I'm going to go ahead and share here, because I have seen many complaints that over time people feel like their product isn't working or that the formula changes, is that our ability to absorb the product is related to the acidity/alkalinity of our respective digestive tracts. For anyone feeling like they need a nap shortly after, make sure you aren't having anything acidic first thing in the morning. No grapefruit juice or orange juice. When I learned that thing (a while ago, but then forgot) it was a game changer. I lived most of my life with morning OJ but happily gave it up for a fully working brain.
Best of luck to everyone. OH. and last thing to note. Teva's "license" for their Adderall expires in December 2020. Not to create some kind of panic. But just have some backup plans in case they opt out or do a company swap as before when Barr became Teva several years ago and most people got swapped to Corepharma.
Very interesting information. Thank you for sharing. Where did you get the information to compare the ingredients used? I think all of our brain chemistry responds differently to different chemical compounds & formulas used in these drugs. It was only the corePharma brand that worked well for me. All the other brands were like poison, different strengths made no difference. It was the formula itself. Now that the new company Epic Pharma LLC is making the CorePharma brand again, I need to be able to make sure it is the same as before. As I previously said I don't know how to find a pharmacy in my network that will special order it & Epic can't tell me who they distribute it to. I've asked to speak to the department that deals with that area of sales & distribution but they don't seem to have that info. So frustrating!!!
Also, Adderall is very expensive for me to purchase even with my insurance. Any suggestions ?
