I would suggest you try both and monitor symptom relief. We are all individuals and respond differently. And when I was much younger I lived on the Pepto. Now I can't even look at the stuff! LOL I have discovered I need an H2 antagonist (famotidine). So, if you don't get relief from Gaviscon or Pepto-Bismol you may need to explore some other medication. Good luck!
