... posts I think it might be withdrawal from klonopin. My last dose was Thursday night.
I don't have the symptoms that I had when I withdrew from xanax years ago.
I am extremely weak, chills, sweats, severe body pains, can't walk without staggering, dizzy and more.
My husband took me to the ER yesterday they said it was some type of virus. I even missed my methadone dose Saturday. Yesterday and today my husband dragged me out to the car to go to the clinic. Even the methadone isn't working now.
Anyone have any ideas or comments. I just want to die, I don't remember being this sick

I have withdrawn from benzodiazepines as well as opioids and alcohol, and your symptoms sound more like opioid withdrawal than benzodiazepine withdrawal. Since you had Xanax withdrawal then you know the worst of it because Xanax produces the worst withdrawal of all the benzodiazepines. They are murdereously addictive. Since your symptoms sound like opioid withdrawal perhaps your methadone isn't working any longer and you need an increase. Chills and aches and pains are definite signs of opioid withdrawal. Also diarrhea and vomiting. Weakness, joint pain, restless or painful legs, increased sensitivity to pain, Etc are all opioid withdrawal signs. Also you probably know that high blood pressure is a definite sign of benzodiazepine withdrawal. When I came off opioids both full opioids and Suboxone my blood pressure actually dropped to the point where it was very low and the doctors in rehab were concerned.
This happens to heroin addicts terribly and they need someone to actually inject them because their blood pressure is so low they are too weak to do it themselves. Because of this someone has to mainline their shot right in the neck so they can get up off the ground.
Have you considered the possibility that it could be the methadone dose not being high enough any longer? Especially given the fact that you said your methadone is no longer working.
I hope this was helpful or at least informative and good luck to you. As I said I know firsthand how bad withdrawals can be.

I assure you it is the withdrawal. I started my taper 6 weeks ago and completed it 10 days ago. I was on Xanax 2 mg. Prescribed by my doctor for about four months.
I was in the ER last night just to get checked out because of the severity of the symptoms and much to my surprise it got even worse this morning. I feel like I have the worst flu known to man. Chills, tremors, unexplainable levels of anxiety. I just want to die. I heard withdrawal symptoms peak at week 2 after stopping meds and that’s about where I am. Unbelievable. My heart goes out to all of you. We must pray to God to save us.
Actually, after visiting many websites, I can tell you that your symptoms can ALL be symptoms of benzo withdrawal. You may want to check it out. Am going thru Xanax withdrawals & experiencing most of those symptoms as well as pain... also had muscles spasms and cramps.
Hello youneverknow. I was on Valium, one of two benzodiazepines that I had to go into detox for. The other was Xanax. Valium works much Klonopin, in fact take either one and you'd be hard pressed to beable to tell one from the other. I believe you are going through withdrawals from the Klonopin. Best of wishes, pledge
How long does the withdrawals last? I have been taking Klonopin for 9 years and I hate the med. Makes me not retain info, memory loss etc..
It varies. Weeks are common. A taper is a must.
I too am suffering from klonopin withdrawl and am feeling alot of flu like symptoms Im sweeting way to much and have a cough that comes and goes all day its causing me not to sleep well i got 2:30 hours of sleep this morning this feeling of illness started about 1 month ago and has only gotten worse and i have allready been to the ER 1 month ago they put me on a strong antiboitic. "I have been thru this withdrawl from klonopin and im on .5 mg 3 times a day" I use herbs such as valarian root, leamon balm, chamomile, and passionflower right now its keeping my anexity stable but not to wear i feel comfortable. MY question is what is going on with me? and any sugestions on where to go for help
what you are describing i believe its the methadone you are withdrawling from those are symptoms of opiate withdrawl
That does sound like a virus more than wd from benzo. You should be anxious, and feel manic with wd from benzo, as well as insomnia, mood swings, that kind of thing. Go to youtube.com and put Klonopin withdrawal or quitting Klonopin ( spell it right tho, don't think I did) and see if any videos pop up that might help you. I hope you feel better, have you taken any tylenol, in case you have fever.
