I have very bad asthma I take asmanex 220 mcg 4 times a day. Serevent disk 2 times a day. Prednisone 30mg <hate it> and singulair 10mg so with that being said I still have trouble with my asthma but the funny thing is when I take the singulair at night it helps a little and I can only take it once a day. So I wonder if Benadryl would have any benefit taking it daily for morning and afternoon. My asthma is caused mostly by allergy. Mold..dust mites..Pets. And a few other things. Was just curious if anybody else might had something similar like this and what they took to help them get by day by day.
Benadryl good for asthma?

Since, your asthma is caused by allergies I would believe antihistamines would be beneficial . There are all types of antihistamines. Some antihistamines, may cause adverse effects and exacerbate some asthma symptoms. If, you’re able to take Benadryl without side effects I would rather take and antihistamine than, Steroids for sure! I worked with a lady who had anxiety, allergies, and asthma her doctor gave her Vistaril as needed she had a difficult time breathing as a side effect- so the doctor added Cogentin to counteract side effects and it helped.
I would speak to your doctor about it especially, the fact it’s from allergies... I myself hate steroids! I rather take anything but steroids... I used and inhaler for two years before, a hospital figured out it wasn’t asthma I was allergic to a medication that my doctor swore it wasn’t causing my so-called asthma... I don’t wish it on anyone!
I hope you feel better asthma sucks!
Yes I hate Prednisone (think I spelled that right) I'm being taper down as I refuse to take it any longer. I get weak shake and jittery. so yea i really hate it. My other meds haven't really bother me. But don't help much ether. . So we are trying a different route. I'm getting set up to get allergy shots. And take hydroxyzine
I hope it works out well for you. I’m glad that your doctor heard you.
Feel better!
