My husband has foot fungal problems and we only have one shower/tub... sometimes I sit in the tub with my toddler son when I bathe him. My son and I both have UTIs, just curious if one could have something to do with the other.
Can bathing in a tub that someone with athletes foot has used cause a UTI?

Seek: I dought it this is a different kind of fungus it is not uncommon for you to get athletes foot from a shower sharing with someone else like at a gym or home but it would have to be a pretty bad case but the UTI is normally a different type of bacteria and as you know woman and children are pretty prone to UTI'S But to be on the safe side it would not hurt to pour some bleach in your tub prior to you and the baby taking a bath.
Like the other person said above.. ALWAYS WASH YOUR TUB THOROUGHLY, WITH BLEACH AND MAYBE AN ANTIBACTERIAL/Scrubbing bubblesbor some kind of cleaning spray containing bleach!!! - especially when your bathing a baby/infant/child etc.. And I'm not trying to criticise You in ANYWAY... but, it might be time to cut out the mommy-son bathTime. Maybe you had a UTI & didn't know it , and have now passed it to your child. But anyways, yes, just scrub the run thoroughly before soak... hope this helps some, btw, how old is the child?
