Back on sertraline. Help please?

Did either of you stay on the sertraline? Does it work? Effexor (venlafaxine) ruined my life. Cost me the love of my life because it distorted my mind and within 6 months she has met and wed somebody else. i’m in such deep seated pain she was the best thing to happen to me in my whole life and I alone ruined everything. even turned people against her im so ashamed. been off effexor completely almost 2 months, but was reducing dosage since she left me but its worse pain now. Like its only just happened and we’ve only just broken up. I feel like crawling out of myself.i cant escape. I cannot believe the medication is allowed to be given out like sweeties. It turned me into a monster and now I live in deep shame. Will the sertraline help and how long before it starts to work please??

Unfortunately it takes a few weeks for the venlafaxine to get out of your system and the sertraline to start working. When I switched the doctor gave me additional meds to help with the transition. Just curious about your doctor's advice on this? I know it is horrible but it will take several weeks. For comparison the last time I switched it took a full month for me to start feeling better. Take good care of yourself.
