It just depends on which vaginal infection you have.
Azithromycin is used to treat sexually transmitted diseases, but there are other antibiotics which may be more suitable for other vaginal infections.
If you know you have an infection then please see your doctor and he/she could do a swab to determine which sort of infection you have any prescribe the appropriate antibiotic.
