Is anyone on Vyvanse? Thinking about switching from Adderall

I took 25mg adderall xr 6am/2pm. So 2 a day for 2yrs. I've switched to vyvanse 50mg. I hear if it is too strong you will know it right away. This is a good dose for me. However dr said it would last all day & it is similar to Adderall xr about 7-8hrs. Headed back for 2 a day or possibly a booster instant release. Honestly. I was skeptical... I love it. You have to give it at least 1wk before u judge it. Much smoother, I thought at first it wasn't working because it didn't "kick in" like adderall. Its very gradual. I think it is so much better! My son was on Vyvanse. It worked except it takes your appetite away. Especially at lunch. We had to take him off because he wasn't eating and weighed 65 pounds at 12. Now, the pediatrician prescribed him a pill for appetite and he gained 20 pounds. He was off Vyvanse for the summer like last year but when he went on again his appetite went completely. By the way Adderal is a sister drug to Vyvanse.

My child uses adderall too. We have tried the adderall xr and the vyvanse. Neither one worked for her. The regular adderall is the best for her. You can always switch for a month and then go back, that is what we do so that we can have time to try something different, but nothing else seems to work. But, remember, ALL KIDS ARE DIFFERENT. What works for mine, may not work for yours. Mine can't take any non-stimulant ADHD meds and regular adderall seems to be the only thing that is going to work on her. Good Luck.
