I take sublingual ativan and just wondering how long prior to taking it and after taking can one eat. I have found if I eat too close to taking a dose , it does not work as well .

If you take the Ativan on an empty stomach then it starts getting into you system in about 20-30 minutes. If you eat food and then take the Ativan then it might take as long as an hour to an hour and a half to get into your system. The Ativan does not lose its strength but you essentially dilute the effect of the Ativan by taking it on a full stomach.
