I was eating some dessert that was covered in cocoa powder and I accidentally inhaled some right through my mouth and into my lungs. I coughed for awhile and was irritated and now I fear aspiration pneumonia. Is this likely? I am an otherwise healthy adult. Also, when would symptoms appear if I were to get sick?
Will I get aspiration pneumonia?

Answers
No. You had the normal response which gets it out of there. People who get into trouble with aspiration don't have that 'reflex.
