Ashwagandha - has anyone taken ashwagandha?

I just started taking it last Thursday but actually started taking it because I have an overload of cortisol in my system. I was in the worst depression I've ever had with it though. By Friday afternoon I felt my mood start lifting. Saturday I actually got out of bed and started cleaning the house. I have never had any antidepressant work like the ashwagandha has. It did also help the leg pain and weakness I had too. I didn't know it helped depression too. I have had no depression come back either. I am still on my antidepressants. I did cut my effexor back to 150mg though. Still taking 300mg of Wellbutrin. I have bipolar but mostly just get depression now. I'm starting to get manic now . I can feel it coming on today. I'm wondering if I need the antidepressants but I would definitely recommend it for depression.
