I was not able to sleep because of it and ended up gaining weight because I would be up all night waiting for the restlessness go away and so would eat while waiting.
Did anyone get Restless Leg Syndrome from mirtazapine?

I had read that Mirtazapine is common for causing RLS but I know not everyone gets it. I have actually been off of it since end of March and the RLS is slowly going away but it has been a long time. I know the SSRI and SNRI medications can also cause RLS but Mirtazapine is to be the worse for it. I have been able to avoid the midnight eating because the RLS is getting manageable so am slowly losing the weight now.

Hi, mcandi!
No I didn't, but rarely restless legs have been reported.
Increased appetite and weight gain are common.
Diet and exercise will help to a degree. How about eating celery, cheese, and so on as a snack. Try to avoid foods that are high in carbs and sugar and stick with things like eggs, meat, seafood, nuts, and of course, very light on cakes, cookies, ice cream etc.
Hope this helps a little.
Kind regards, Wildcat
