Firstly, I am happy to have this community forum. This has caused significant weight gain for me as well. I started taking it about June of 2023 and by October I had easily gained about 20-25 lbs.
I stopped cold turkey (no side effects) after reading about the weight gain difficulties of others. I am working to get back to normal by walking, more soups & limiting solids, & cleansing tea I take nightly. I feel a bit lighter - I am retraining my metabolism - grapefruit juice & lemon & lime drinks with stevia & I use monk juice in my nightly tea. This can be overcome - We can do this. I was taking it for chronic nerve spasms - radiculapathy. Next I will try a new version of a nerve implant stimulator -HFX spinal cord stimulator. Meanwhile I am just resorting back to some muscle relaxers that help me sleep thru the back pain & spasms up & down my right leg. I wish us all well & will check back in.
yes it does. I've been reading into this topic as well and have observed many reporting the same. Some seem to notice an increase in appetite. I didn't, but maybe it was subconscious and I was just eating more without noticing. I think there is some effect on metabolism, because even when I increased exercise and controlled calories I still gained weight. I've been off it for 10 days and haven't lost any of the gained weight yet. Hoping I can get back to my normal weight soon.
Hello, I will try to explain it as best as I can: a little while after taking it, I found myself in the fridge. I wasn't even hungry, just looking for something to eat. When I got done eating, I would find myself back at the fridge. This went on until 2 hours later when I would go to sleep. I lost 50 pounds in the first week of stopping the med. Now when I lived else where and did not have my own access to food, I didn't gain any weight. So it all depends on if you are eating extra food while on it. Yet it was like I had no control over it. Like I didn't even realize that I was doing it. I was off and on it for many years. Always at 150 mgs. I didn't realize the full impact of it until I stopped taking the med. I should of put a lock on the fridge, lol. Best of luck because, I really miss all of the benefits the medicine did for me. It has been around 4 years since I have been off of it and I still miss the medicine. It is a wonder med. Peace.:)
