I am posting this on behalf of my friend who has hypothyroidism. She was diagnosed with Hashimoto's many years ago but with thyroid meds it became normal. However, recently, she developed allergy (shortness of breath) to her thyroid medication, even Tirosint which supposedly doesn't have any fillers. Now her TSH has gone from below 5 to 8.6 because she stopped taking her meds for a month and half now. I joined this support group to find out if anyone has experienced this - allergy to all thyroid medications - and what was done to resolve it. I am worried sick for my friend because I read that untreated thyroid condition can lead to Hashimoto's, and eventually heart problems and heart failure. Sounds so scary. Please help if you have any information. Thank you everyone, and God bless and heal you all.

Good Day, I am so sorry for your friend's situation, yes, very scary and overwhelming!
She may want, if not already, talk with her physician, about a possible alternative Armor Thyroid. Before we had the newer therapies for thyroid disorders, Armor Thyroid was about the only med available.
My cousin has only been able to tolerate the Armor Thyroid, and it has served her well with her specific situation. She is 90 years + and still running, literally!
Wishing you both the best, Cindy
