Adderall - how do I know whether aderall is working or not? I need it to focus, but I feel nervous?

Well I have only tried two different ADHD medications now, but I switched from Vyvanse to Adderall IR today. I took 2 doses today and felt so much clearer. The first one not so much, but by the second dose I did feel balanced out. After about 45min to a hour I felt it kick in, but nothing overwhelming. I actually felt more motivated and just a touch of a kick. Lasted me about 31/2 hours before I took second dose. I will say I think for each dose you take in a day will intensify the comedown feeling. The first dose I had a terrible headache but when the second one started taking effect the headache went away. After the second one wore off I felt a tad edgy and unfocused. (Kind of paced around but couldn't figure out what I wanted to do.) If you don't feel anything within about a hour, and still can't focus then it sounds like you may be on too low of a dose. If you feel to anxious, nervous or multiple side effects then it's probably too high of a dose. Also could be the wrong med for you.

Chowski, it's the same for me-the second dose is where I really feel at my best. Though I have found something even better than Adderall if the kick isn't what you want. Dexedrine has a cleaner feeling compared with Adderall. Where 45mg a day for adderall is needed, Dexedrine gives the same impact at 30mg per day. Everything else was spot-on. Glad that you feel clearer with adderall than with Vyvanse.

Springer10, Thanks for the info. I'm curious, whalt's the difference between Vyvanse and Dexadrine? If I had a bad reaction to the Vyvanse is it likely to have same reaction to Dex.? I'm still new to these meds and trying to figure out the differences. Another thing about Adderall IR. I had the worst headache yesterday and didn't go away until I took my Elavil and Baclofen at bedtime. I haven't had these headaches everyday since I started Adderall, but have a couple of times. Nothing gets rid off it untiI I get sleep. I had only 1 hour of sleep that night so I'm wondering if it's from lack of sleep or Adderall?
