Hi PAS99
It is not wise nor is it necessary to take 2 500mg naprosyn pills at the same time. First off, you're not going to get more pain relief by doubling the dose. 500mg of naprosyn will work on the inflammation and pain just fine. More importantly, if you do double the dose you're setting yourself up for GI symptoms such as an upset stomach, indigestion, nausea etc. Headaches are also a possibility of taking too much naprosyn at once.
If I were you I would follow the instructions on the prescription bottle or the over-the-counter directions on the box.
On a final note, if you still have questions concerning what dose you should take I would ask either the pharmacist or the doctor who wrote you the prescription for the naprosyn.
Feel better soon.
