Im on 300 mg Wellbutrin XL once a day. Is it safe to cut in half have 150 in morning and 150 at?

Micchele; The best you can do is talk to the doctor and have them order the 150mg SR which are 12-hour pills and take those twice a day. You can't take or break Wellbutrin XL 300 mg into 1/2 because you still won't get the right amount in your system the XL TABLET it is released over a 24 hour period so it well not be the same and you would not be able to regulate you blood level as well. They should never be crushed or dissolved or cut the must be taken whole. or ask your doctor for the ones you had before that way you well get the ones that work, or a 12 hour period and keep a blood level that well equals the 300mg XL sorry but good luck

after I researched a bit but no, it's not safe to cut them in half, must take them whole because they are extended relief, sorry!

When I was in hospital few months ago they were giving me 150 mg in morning 150 at night was supposed be once day 300 mg I think I was a lot better twice a day 150 mg instead of once a day. Why is it not safe to cut in half?

Yes, that's right! However, you can get prescriptions for 150 and take them twice per day, if you'd like :0)

I have not tried cutting them in half but I do take 100mg Wellbutrin and 100mg sertraline every morning. By 3 pm everyday my panic and anxiety have me shaking, trembling, palpitations, irritated and very agitated. My psychiatrist won't address this when I bring it up to him. So I take another dose of each. By 10 pm I am ready for bed but cannot get to sleep. So he prescribed Ativan and Zolpidem for night. I recently was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.. I am 54 and done with menopause so I know the symptoms are not from menopause. I had a total hysterectomy. So. I have been taking AD for 7 years. I have applied for SSDI and was denied 2x. I have obtained attorneys and the next step is to go in front of an Administrative Law Judge. For the last week I have stopped taking Wellbutrin and Sertraline and I have been experiencing sweating, hot flashes, trembling, insomnia, crying for no reason, agitation, irritation, and just being a total bitch.
So happy my husband is still with me! Everyone's body is different. I have been doing a lot of "experimenting" with my meds and know what works and what does not work. I hope you find that right combination of meds. (some of this info is me, just rambling, so sorry!)

I have,experiment lots meds most dont work on me im on. sertraline 250 mg Latuda 80 mg Wellbutrin XL 300 mg in morning also Trazodone 50 mg and flupenthixol 1 mg at bedtime and injection called flupenthixol 50 mg every two weeks but I feel I need wellbutrin at night but will ask the doctor on jan 25 when I see him
