I have been on 2mg abilify for almost 2 weeks for depression and anxiety. I have tried every other medication out there and either was allergic to them or couldn't handle the side effects. My psych doc put me on abilify. I have dizziness, headaches, and stomach issues. If this is related to abilify, will these side effects last or fade away? Also, when do most people take abilify. Also, this is the only medication besides nexium, synthroid, and 0.5mg Ativan as needed. Thanks.

My son has stomach aches and constipation issues with Abilify. Will the stomach aches subside and can I use Pepto Bismul for it or Tums?
hi--i know this post is old--but did your headache, dizzy issues go away? i am 7 days in on abilify and having terrible time with dizzy issues and headache, foggy feeling. SOS. oh, i am only on 2 mg of abilify.
THANKS!
From the literature:
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
Thanks. The dizzy is freaking me out bc I’ve had issues before. Headaches too. It’s been a week. Still having some breakthrough anxiety.
Dramamine is a safe, very effective OTC medication that controls dizziness, vertigo, and nausea.
But w this OTC can make daily tasks very hard due to the drowsiness
You only use it for the short while the side effects last. It didn't make me drowsy at all.
Good I'm glad.. my side effect is causing headaches
Have you tried ibuprofen, Aleve, etc?
I need to know if anyone else has severe dizziness after taking ability
Slight dizziness

I am very dizzy and have fallen while taking Abilify, scarred my leg. I am physically experiencing pretty significant feelings of fainting and dizziness. (other undesirable effects are skin afflictions, blurred vision)
I had to stop it after taking it for 6 months. I was going through the same side effects as you. I had insomnia and anxiety while on it. The doc kept decreasing the med and I was still going through the same side effects. I went from 10 down to 5 mg and then I couldn't take the dizziness anymore. I actually feel better without the antipsychotics... can't handle them. I was put on them for depression, but it is just too much.
I have only been on abilify for 2 weeks and the dizziness is awful! I have an appointment with my doc next week and am hoping that she will take me off!!
I see this is an old thread but hoping someone can tell me how long the dizziness and weird head feeling lasted for them. I’m on day 11
I am on abilify 15mg. pm, I have taken it for some years now and never a problem, well we all know we do not react to meds in the same way.

With regards to the side effects you are experiencing, inform your DR. Perhaps you need to change medication or have your dose adjusted.
I am hypersensitive too and honestly after the 5th med I tried I gave up. These meds can actually make you do crazy stuff and I'm not going to jail for an SsRI or anything that effects your brain chemicals. I took klonopin, but I decided Xanax worked better didn't have to wait forever for it to work. They tell you to wait 30 days, but if your side effects continue call your doctor.
