I took 20mg at 7pm and another at 9pm. I forgot I had taken it earlier.
I took 2 doses of Xarelto by mistake. What should I do?

No emergency just be careful for 18hours BUT THERE IS SOMETHING (Especially important if you easily hurt yourself or a fall risk) YOU CAN DO to lower the blood thinning effect. Greens interfere with Xarelto and thicken the blood, eat salad. Or any greens and the skins from vegetables. If your on xarelto for a post op (Especially Cardiac) your probably on a GERD diet, this does not effect that Diet. If your a green smoothie person drink that. Eat a salad. Good size try to eat a few spaced every 6 hours make your day a green leafy veggie day. You can nullify the effects of the extra dose. Especially below 15mg. This info is based off a study done on the efficacy of Xarelto specifically as controls other thinners were used and the same effect from greens observed. Any binding foods will also lessen effect. (This is more effective on other thinners greens seem the best way with Xarelto based on the study).
This happened to me & I called poison control. There is nothing to do or worry about. It's not something they refer to the emergency room. You should just be extra careful to not bump or injure yourself. Suggested eating something. Resume regular dose next day and/or call your physician.
im asking the question!
There is not much you really can do by yourself. The effects of the double dosage will increase your chances of unusual bleeding temporarily but your body's blood clotting should return to its normally medicated level within 1 to 2 days. You can check for yourself on the US poison control line: 1-800-222-1222 (U.S.). They also have a handy web based webPOISONCONTROL tool that I would recommend you to use (I cannot give you the link as it is not allowed here) but google "US poison control" to access the tool. It will ask you some questions (you can be anonymous I think) and give you the best course of action to take if needed.
Take care.
