There are more than one Pharma co. that manufacture a generic version of Restoril-Temazepam, approved by the FDA.

I just open and remove half. The price of 7.5mg compared to 15mg is CRAZY!!! Because only 1 Company makes it!!!

Yes, you can do it. Please see instructions in the answer I posted to the original question. This pill works strongly for me but for a short time and has bad side effects, so I have been splitting them in thirds for several weeks now by dividing the powder and putting it into empty capsules.

You should be able to carefully pull the capsule apart and separate the powder inside if you wanted to :) I know you can pull them apart, just be careful as to hold it over something clean and flat so you can make 2-3 little piles (or however you want to take it)

I disagree. Capsules are not meant to be taken apart. The medication inside is a combination of a couple things, and there is no way for you to exactly get the right amounts of each. Do not do this. Call your doctor and ask about tapering down. He will help you.

Dump out 10 of them then bulk them up with sugar so that 1 tsp (5cc) of the mix has one capsule of Temazepam. Then you can get as exact a dose as you want. On a given night I sense how relaxed/tense I am and can guess how much I need. I mix some melatonin in with that (use coffee grinder). 10 yrs of doing this off and on says it works just fine.

Any dosage change needs to be Dr approved and supervised, especially if you've been on it a long time (longer than 2-3 months).

I thought I could use a sharp razor blade and be careful not to lose any of the medication inside. I know it sounds a little crazy.
