Video transcript

Hello and welcome to "VideoScript", presented by Drugs.com.

Today in the final of three presentations, we continue reviewing Intuniv, an FDA-approved medication used as part of a treatment program to help manage the symptoms of ADHD.

Common side effects with Intuniv include: feeling sleepy, tired or dizzy, difficulty sleeping, and stomach pain and nausea.

More serious side effects, may include: low blood pressure, low heart rate, fainting.

Low blood pressure is both a common and serious side effect seen with Intuniv. Before a child starts treatment, their doctor should be told if they have low blood pressure or heart rate, heart problems, or a history of fainting, liver or kidney problems.

The tablets need to be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed.
Intuniv is not available in a liquid formulation, so children must be able to swallow tablets whole.
