Product Information

Tekko® Fly G is a granule larvicide with specific properties developed for the control of larvae in poultry litter; and stable fly larvae in cattle operations and horse barns where horses are not intended for slaughter or food. It acts as a growth regulator and affects the formation of stable fly larvae.

Tekko® Fly G can be used alternatively with EPA registered fly adulticides, and is an important component of any integrated fly control program. Additionally, include appropriate sanitary and management practices to reduce the number and size of insect breeding sites. To achieve a faster reduction of the adult fly population, use concurrently with an EPA registered adulticide. Follow the most restrictive label limitations and precautions of all products used in mixtures. No label dosage rates may be exceeded. This product cannot be mixed with any product containing a label prohibition against such mixing.

As Tekko® Fly G affects only developing immature stages by disrupting the molting process; fully developed adult stages of pest and beneficial species are not affected. The elimination of adult insects occurs gradually and becomes visible one to two weeks after application. For best results, read and follow all directions thoroughly.

READ ALL DIRECTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE USE

Application Sites: Apply Tekko® Fly G only on fly breeding sites. Do not apply to fly resting sites (walls, ceilings, etc.), as it has no effect on adult flies.

Application Method: Dry Scattering - While wearing gloves, scatter Tekko® Fly G directly and evenly on the insect breeding sites.

Application Schedules: The treatment interval depends on management and housing systems as well as on climatic conditions. It can vary from 7 days up to several months. More specific instructions are given in the application schedules below.

Cattle Operations

Apply Tekko® Fly G directly to fly breeding sites around round hay bales, dairy barns, cattle feedlots, and all other premise areas where flies can breed. Apply one half pound per 200 square feet.

Apply Tekko® Fly G approximately 3 days after manure removal, and repeat treatment after each removal or when fly larvae are found.

Poultry Operations

Apply Tekko® Fly G by treating the entire manure area approximately 1 week after manure removal. Repeat treatment after each removal or when fly larvae are found. Apply one pound per 200 square feet.

To maintain control of house flies, reapply every two weeks while conditions favor fly development. Length of time for treatment depends upon management and housing systems as well as on climatic conditions.

Apply no more than 1,850 lbs. of Tekko® Fly G (14.8 lbs. of novaluron) per manure site per year.

Hog Farms and Horse Barns (for horses not intended for slaughter or food)

Stalls, manure pile: Treat all areas where manure, spilled feed, and/or moisture accumulate. Scatter Tekko® Fly G underneath bedding on stall floors after cleaning. Repeat treatment after each removal or when larvae are found. Apply one half pound per 200 square feet.
