BRONCHITIS VACCINE

ARK. TYPE, LIVE VIRUS

For use in animals only

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy chickens 1 day of age or older against infectious bronchitis, Ark. type. Duration of immunity has not been established for this product. For more information regarding safety and efficacy data, see productdata.aphis.usda.gov.

Administer by the eye drop route (vials of 1000 doses only), or by coarse spray.

A second dose should be given at 2 weeks of age or older.

Eye drop administration:

For use with vials of 1000 doses only - rehydrate with 30 mL diluent provided.

Remove overseal and stopper from the vaccine vial and pour part of the diluent into it. Shake well and pour the vaccine back into the remaining diluent. Place the dropper tip on the diluent bottle. The vaccine is now ready for eye drop use. Hold the bird on its side with one eye turned up. Administer one drop of vaccine into the open eye and hold the bird until it swallows. To prevent injury, avoid touching the bird’s eye with the dropper tip.

Coarse spray administration:

Rehydrate the vaccine with cool distilled water in an amount sufficient enough to vaccinate the required number of birds according to the directions of the spray cabinet or field sprayer manufacturer. Field spray application should be used only in houses that can be tightly closed. Close all windows, doors, vents, etc. and turn off fans. Spray each 1000 doses of vaccine directly into the faces of 1000 birds. Leave house closed for at least 15 minutes after spraying. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment during vaccination.

Vaccination reaction:

Respiratory symptoms will be more pronounced from the first vaccination and will vary with the age and the level of parental immunity in the chicks. While birds are going through the reaction period, keep them comfortable by providing adequate heat and ventilation.

Storage temperature: Store at 2° to 8°C (35° to 46°F).

Warnings

Vaccinate only healthy birds.

Use entire contents when a vial is first opened.

Inactivate unused contents before disposal.

Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the labeling.

Keep permanent vaccination records, including vaccine serial number.

Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

Contains penicillin and streptomycin as preservatives.

In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Distribution in each State shall be limited to authorized recipients designated by proper State officials--under such additional conditions as these authorities may require.

Chicks being shipped by parcel post should be vaccinated at their destination so as not to violate postal regulations.
