Eylea / Eylea HD are VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) inhibitors that used to treat retinal eye diseases that may affect your vision, including neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), diabetic retinopathy (DR), diabetic macular edema (DME). Eylea is also approved to treat macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). It is given by intravitreal injection into the eye that has been numbed. Some common side effects are temporary bleeding in the eye, eye pain, eye redness and increased blood pressure in the eye.
