What is Adalat (Adalet)?
Adalat (Adalet) belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blocker. Adalat (Adalet) is used to treat angina (chest pain caused by lack of oxygen to the heart due to clogged arteries or spasm of the arteries). Adalat (Adalet) is also used to treat high blood pressure.
Adalat (Adalet) reduces the workload of the heart by blocking the transport of calcium into the muscles lining the arteries causing the muscles to relax, allowing the arteries to dilate. This improves blood flow through the heart and throughout the body and lowers blood pressure, which reduces the burden on the heart as it pumps blood to the body. Reducing heart burden lessens the heart muscle's demand for oxygen, and further helps to prevent angina in patients with coronary artery disease.
Advise the doctor that you take Adalat (Adalet) before having surgery, including dental surgery. Before taking Adalat (Adalet) tell your doctor of any diseases you have especially: liver disease, congestive heart failure, any allergies. Limit using alcohol while taking Adalat (Adalet).
