For Hypertriglyceridemia "After 4 months my cholesterol has lowered some, but my blood pressure average has dropped dramatically. I was averaging 150 over 90, and now I'm averaging 123 over 74? I have 5 stents, double by pass and have had heart failure, and a heart attack. I'm happy no side effects!"

For Hypertriglyceridemia "My Cardiologist put me on this after I had 3 stents put in. My recent bloodwork showed triglycerides in the high 200’s. In the two years I have taken Vascepa I have gained about 40 pounds. And NOW the muscle and joint pain. It was excruciating! It would wake me up at night - hips, ankles, shoulders - a different area every night. I had started at four a day - then I discovered it gave me terrible bad breath to the point people backed away from me. So I cut back to two at night. Two years on this med an in the beginning joint pain was never mentioned as a side effect, now they are mentioning it on the website. I stopped taking it 3 nights ago. The joint and muscle pain has almost completely subsided. I feel much better and have energy for the first time in a very long time."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "I have high Cholesterol, heart trouble (80% blockages). Best prescription med I've ever had to take, absolutely no bad side effects but several positive ones improved mood, no DES, some weight loss, reduced aches and pains , haven't experienced a bit of angina since I began taking it."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Two months of taking 4 grams a day, and my triglycerides went from 500 +down to 125. Incredible response, no noticeable side effects. I'll be staying on this medication for the next 6 months, and I will provide further details at the end of the dosage period."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Vascepa has kept my triglycerides in check for years. Sometimes it might be borderline with diet, but overall, I'm usually in the safe zone. No side effects and packaging presents so problems. No fish burp. Great drug."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Hypertriglycerides 450 - 500. Exercise, weight loss and diet change made little difference. Started Vascepa four months ago. It lowered my bad numbers by 50%. I feel better than I have in past 10 years. Side benefits: My skin is smooth and softer with fine lines reduced and I seem to have more energy. I highly, highly recommend Vascepa."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Started with recommended dose of 2 Vascepa twice a day. After about 4 months, the pain started in hip - couldn't even lay on that side. To take daily walk needed support pole as pain would come suddenly. Went off, cleared up. Also ringing in ears increased and 8 lb weight gain. Went off Vascepa - most side effects cleared up. Tried half dose few months later. All side effects--plus came back. Never again! I am a female in late 60's."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Digger I feel the same way. My legs feel like I have 20 pound weights on them and when I walk I feel like I want to fall forward. Strange feeling. We are monitoring me throughout the night to make sure it is just side effects from the meds. Head stuffy feel like the flu almost."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "I had TGs of 482 - 525 in 2012 - I tried to get them under control but could not despite exercise and diet . I tried Lovaza in 2012 but it spiked by LDL-s by 40% and my Doc was very concerned and I stopped ( plus fishy stink, burbs etc). Then I tried samples of Vascepa, wow! no fish taste whatsoever, my TGs fell by 40% and I felt better than ever ( mood, strength, less aches and my Dry Eye ceased! and my LDL-C dropped 305 as well. Its a miracle for me. I looked at OTC, but it was far more expensive than 49 co-pay coupon and worried about unknown ingredients, toxins. I highly recommend this medicine. No side effects - Zero!"

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Vascepa gives me severe headaches. Very first time I took only for two days and then next three days I was taking Advil or Tylenol to reduce my pain. During this time I stopped taking the drug. Then after 4 days I started again and with in hours of taking nightly dose, I started headache again."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "- vascepa will definitely give you some skin irritations and what looks like bites or sores. After years of good results with taking ordinary Omega 3 I was forced to switch to Valcepa as a drug change by CVS Caremark,,,, bad judgement !!. This one drug which the manufacturer put the doctors on their review listing and then had the balls to actually pay them to keep quiet. Beware !!"

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Does not help. I was on Vascepa 1 gram, 2 pills x 2 times per day. I worked out 5x per week, ate very healthy, and triglycerides were getting higher while on Vascepa. I got better results while on OTC meds."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Triglyceride levels were 508. Doctor prescribed VASCEPA 6 months ago. Did another doctor visit and detailed blood report shows triglyceride lowered to 205. There is no change to my diet and exercise routine so VASCEPA is the only change. Will continue to take next 3 months."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "When I started on Vascepa, my fasting triglyceride level was 1,170!! In 2 weeks they dropped to 261!!! My HDL cholesterol slightly improved from 20 to 28, total cholesterol dropped from 255 down to 166! My blood pressure also dropped from 160/110 to 130/82, this medication has also helped improve my vision at night, one thing I will note, this medication does thin your blood some, at least in my experience, but overall, I am completely side effect free, this product is expensive, costing me around $220 a coupon "

For Hypertriglyceridemia "My Dr. prescribed this drug to lower my triglycerides. My numbers went from over 1400 down to 425 in three months. I continue to take this drug and have seen additional drop in my triglyceride numbers. I have had angioplasty with cardiac stent and diagnosed with CAD also Type 2 diabetic so I know the importance of getting my cholesterol under control. The drug is rather expensive though."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "I was recently prescribed Vascepa for HIGH Triglycerides. I have been highly impressed with it's ability to stop inflammation and pain from my Multiple Sclerosis. I am eagerly waiting to see how well Vascepa lowers my Triglycerides at tje next visit doctor visit.. This medicine is great and minus the issues associated with DHA. Meaning no A-Fib or Palpitations and Tachycardia. As pure as pure is and well well worth the money! Vascepa is a wonder drug. Thank You Amarin Pharmaceuticals."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "6 weeks of constant bathroom use, oily skin that cause clogged glands in my eyes, terrible body stiffness and aches..no energy, fatigue... But HEY it did lower my triglycerides from 231 to 230--all while raising my total cholesterol 21 points, lowering my hdl by 2 points, and raising my ldl by 23 points. Also raised my blood sugar a bit too. So in summary in 6 weeks of suffering just to be in worst health. I would give this medication a 0 if I could"

For Hypertriglyceridemia "I am 39 yrs old and have had triglyceride and cholesterol problems since my 20's. I tried multiple statins and experienced muscle pain side effects with them all. One year ago I was prescribed vescepa with lipitor (my 3rd try). I now have no side effects of lipitor and my triglycerides are much lower as well as my cholesterol. After about 6 months I started experiencing symptoms of low blood pressure. I have been on blood pressure medication for over 15 yrs due to high BP. What I found is that I no longer needed it BP meds to keep my BP at 120/80 or less and I can only attribute the change to the vescepa and lipitor combo because my shiftwork lifestyle hasn't changed as well as my other bad habits of eating."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "Insurance made me switch from Lovaza to Vascepa. Lovaza effectively lower by blood triglycerides and increased my HDL. Insurance co steps in and stated I should have been on Vascepa first as a step program. Went on it and found out my triglycerides went up dramatically and HDL went down. All the Beni fits of Lovaza went out the window. Vascepa cost more than Lovaza marketed by Teva. Vascepa contains only EPA. Lovaza contains both EPA and D-HAWAII. Essentially Big Pharma put me at risk for coronary heart disease. I am now on an older drug Lopid which for years has been shown to be effective in lowering triglycerides and increasing HDLs. Also both Vascepa and Lovaza over time increase LDL, the “bad” cholesterol. Bottom line is that both products can produce potential harm. I am a nutritional scientist who received NIH grants to study blood lipids. Just a warning that patients need to be careful when there insurance company gets involved- it’s all about the money."

Sought out other reviews. After reading these reviews, I feel Vecepa will NOT help me meet any beneficial goals."

For Hypertriglyceridemia "So I’ve been on vascepa for awhile, but due to job change and insurance change had to stop! The first time I was on it. I was super gassy and bloated and diarrhea here and there nothing horrible. But I just got back on it about three weeks ago and now my muscles hurt. Like I ran a 10k at full speed with out stretching or warming up! And since I started back on I’ve noticed I have to pee bad like bladder is gonna explode or I’m about to pee myself. I haven’t seen this as a side effect. But it started after two weeks. I guess I’ll have to talk to my doc. But If anyone else has this issue please like or comment. I’m curious!"
