Anyone experiencing excessive hair loss on labetalol?

Yes it does cause hair loss bad and u will loose your eyelashes and eyebrows. Im taking my self of it I was on it for pregnancy and I don't need it. Especially that I wasn't on blood pressure before. So I took my self off it I really don't need it so it's pointless especially when I don't have blood pressure problems. hair growth everything all back to normal once I got off of it . And they tried to say it was my hormones and I told them it wasn't because I never had this happen with my other kids nor was I on blood pressure the other 2 pregnancy

I took this for a short time for pre-eclampsia, in that time I lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes. My doctor denied it being a side effect, but it clearly was. Now I am just trying to regrow them and feel normal again. Thank you to all who answered and validated my concerns.

I have been on 2400mg (800 three times a day) of Labetalol for 3 months, also on NIFEdipine and Hydralazine.. The last week or so I have noticed my hair is falling out among lots of other side effects.

Yes, I have noticed my edges very thin almost bald. I too have been taking this blood pressure pill for about 3-4 months.
Stopping this pill immediately and requesting a new one.

Yes, I'm losing my hair. I'm almost to the point of going bald. This medication will take your hair out. Along with other BP meds. Channel blockers, beta blockers etc.

I take 400mg 3 times a day , I was taking less at one point - and I will say I have lost half at least if not more of the volume of hair . I take other blood pressure medications also l( losartan , and hydralazine )

I have been on Labetalol 200 mg but take 800 mg a day for 7 years and I have lost a tremendous amount of hair. I came here to see if anyone else has. Now I see I’m not alone. My hair was so thick king and pretty. Now I’m barely able to get a ponytail

I also experienced massive hair loss almost 50percent hair loss when I was taking Labetalol for 3 years. My GP continuously denied this side effect so I had no option but to continue taking it until recently when they stopped it. My hair has since started growing back and its only been 2 months since stopping it. I have a bald patch on top of my head. Im female and this has greatly affected my self confidence.

I have started labetalol 3 months 600 mg a day and I am experiencing a lot of hair loss. I have not discussed with cardiologist. The labetalol is the only change in my meds.

I've been taking the Labetal Twice an day for 3 months 100mg and I have extreme hair loss as well I know some individuals are saying that it doesn't cause hair loss but it is something that should be research carefully everybody's body is different you don't know how we're going to react to these medications. Yes there are other factors that relate to hair loss but it could be a possibility and definitely something that should be consider. I’ve been taking 100mg twice daily of labetalol since June 2019. My doctors switched me to this medication once my husband and I started trying to get pregnant. I don’t like this drug but it is only one of two I can take while pregnant and the other one was worse. On labetalol, I cannot run otherwise I experience the tingling scalp and immense fatigue almost immediately. But now I’m worried it is effecting my hair too. My hair is constantly dry and frizzy. My sister commented yesterday that it looks like my stylist is thinning it when she cuts it. I assured my sister that my stylist would not do that to me. Now reading all of these other answers I’m confident it is labetalol that is changing my hair.

I have been taking labetalol during pregnancy. I started off with 100mg twice daily 23 weeks ago, now I'm on 300mg four times per day. I first noticed my eyelashes thinning, then most recently my leg hair and arm hair is sparsely growing. My head hair seems to be normal? Although I have a good head of hair anyway, so maybe it's falling out and I cant tell yet? I also have started to feel nauseaous this week, and I feel like its because of the maximum dose of Labetalol I'm taking, like my body just can't tolerate anymore of the stuff!? It's helping my blood pressure and keeping me safe in my pregnancy as far as I know for which I'm grateful. I just wasnt expecting or told of any of these side affects. Yes, I do believe it does as well. I have been talking Labetalol for a few years now and have lost a substantial amount of hair at an alarming rate! I have been going to a dermatologist and professional cosmetologist to take care of my scalp and hair while trying all types of treatments. Hair loss of women does not run in my family. I noticed times when I dont take my medication my hair loss is less compared to when I'm on a regular schedule (2× a day) and comb my hair. This is what led me to do an internet search of the side effects of the drug I am taking... And this is what I found today! Thanks for the info ladies as of today I will no longer be taking this drug.
