GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
There is no withdrawal period for JustiFLY® Liquid Feed™. Uniformly mix the product into the feed as the feed tank is being charged with liquid feed. Start feeding JustiFLY® Liquid Feed™ in the spring before flies begin to emerge and continue use until cold weather marks the end of the fly season. In some cases, supplemental fly control measures may be needed in and around pastures and barns to control adult flies which can breed in other decaying matter or silage in the area or that migrate in from other locations.
FEEDING AND MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This product should be fed to cattle only. When used as directed, JustiFLY® Liquid Feed™ will provide sufficient diflubenzuron insect growth regulator to prevent emergence of horn flies, stable flies, house flies and face flies from the manure of treated cattle. Existing adult flies will not be affected. Start feeding before flies appear in the spring and continue feeding until cold weather marks the end of the fly season. Cattle should consume 11.35 mg. of diflubenzuron/250 lb. body weight/day.
The amount of JustiFLY® Liquid Feed™ to be added to the feeding tank is calculated according to the following equation.
Amount of JustiFLY® Liquid Feed™ in lb. to be added = |
Average body weight (lb.) x N _________________________ 100 x Average daily intake (lb.) |
N = factor taking into account the amount of the feed (in lb.) remaining in the feeder at the time of re-charging. For a 3,000 lb. charge, N=1.0; for a 2,250 lb. charge, N=0.75; for 1,500 lb. charge, N=0.50; for a 750 lb. charge, N=0.25. The table below is a guide to determine the number of days feeding, at consumption rates of 1 lb./day and 2 lb./day total liquid feed for various numbers of cows with an average body weight of 1000 lbs.
