Furogen Dip
This treatment applies to the following species:Aeromonas salmonicida Bacterin
For Veterinary Use Only
This bacterin contains formalin inactivated culture of Aeromonas salmonicida.
No other preservative is added.
Uses
As an aid the prevention of furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida.
Vaccination Program
This bacterin has been shown to be safe and effective when administered by immersion to healthy salmonids. Vaccination should precede exposure to the disease agent by 400 degree-days (number of days multiplied by the mean water temperature (°C) during period).
Immersion Delivery
Each litre of undiluted bacterin is sufficient for 100 kg of fish. To use, add 1 litre of bacterin to 9 litres of clean hatchery water. Net, drain and immerse 5 kg batches of fish in bacterin for 60 seconds. Diluted bacterin may be used for up to 20 dips before discarding. It is recommended that fish should be 2g or more in size.
Furogen Dip Caution
1. Shake well before using.
2. Store between 2 - 7° C (35 - 45° F). Do not freeze
3. Use entire contents when first opened.
4. Vaccinal solution and hatchery water ambient temperature should be within 2 °C.
5. Vaccinate healthy fish only.
6. Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter.
7. Revaccination can be done if immunity is required for longer than 300 days.
8. Any unused bacterin should be disposed of according to local waste disposal regulations and requirements.
