Rho (d) immune globulin Pregnancy Warnings

This drug should be used during pregnancy only if the benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus.

AU TGA pregnancy category: Not formally assigned to a pregnancy category.
US FDA pregnancy category: C

Comments: Some formulations are not approved for use during pregnancy. The manufacturer product information should be consulted.

Animal studies have not been conducted. Available evidence does not suggest harm to the fetus or future pregnancies when given to Rho(D) negative women during pregnancy. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

US FDA pregnancy category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
