Sodium Thioglycolate

Excipient (pharmacologically inactive substance)

What is it?

Sodium thioglycolate is found in hair removers (depilatory products), and in some antifungal treatments, such as for athlete's foot. It is also used for chemical permanents in hair. These products may have some safety concerns according to the Environmental Working Group.
