Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is a non-polio enterovirus that can cause mild to severe respiratory illness, especially in children. Mild symptoms may include fever, runny nose, sneezing, cough, and body and muscle aches. Severe symptoms may include wheezing and difficulty breathing. There is no specific treatment for people with respiratory illness caused by EV-D68. For mild respiratory illness, pain and fever symptoms can be relieved with over-the-counter medications.
