Medications for Bronchopleural Fistula

Bronchopleural Fistula is an abnormal connection between the bronchial tree and the membranes that line the lungs (pleural space). This means that air from the lungs is able to escape through the fistula and enter the pleural cavity. Bronchopleural fistula can be a complication of lung surgery, lung infection, chemotherapy or radiation for lung cancer, persistent collapsed lung or trauma.
