For Fibromyalgia "I have had fibromyalgia for years, but the last 3 years have been a nightmare. I ache all day, and at night when you are supposed to get into bed and relax, you can't because it feels like you are a car engine that's been started up and can't be turned off. Your body feels active, and you can't relax. I find my teeth are clenched, or my hand, or my foot. So, had enough three weeks ago, took to my bed for three days crying and feeling depressed. I take tramadol every day, venlafaxine for anxiety, none of which take the pain away. So went to the doctor, she said to give this...all I can say is at present, I have been on it for three weeks, I now remember what a good night's sleep is. I can switch the engine off and actually properly relax, it's wonderful."

For Pain "I have 4 curves in my back. Several bulging discs, chronic pain due to the discs, osteoporosis, lordosis, and kyphosis, with spinal stenosis. Lyrica has been a miracle for me. I have been using a walker for 8 years. Yesterday I went across the street, came back to my house to get the garden hose, back across the street to water my neighbor's plants, and lugged the hose back home. Suddenly, I realized I forgot my walker. I completely forgot it. I wake in the morning pain-free. I am walking now without the walker, it has also improved my mood. I used to cry a lot because I could not do the 'normal' things people my age can do. I am 50 years old and have been on disability for 8 years. I feel like a new person."

For Fibromyalgia "I was attacked at age 60. Totally bedridden for many years. My husband took me to many neurologists who ended up not believing in fibromyalgia. Very insulting, suggesting it was 'all in my head'. Many days I could just not make myself move or interact. I had a great tired feeling and a feeling of pain running through all parts of my body. In October 2014, I was lucky. I went to another neurologist who prescribed 25mg of Lyrica twice a day. In 2 weeks, I was myself again and have not looked back. Before this, I was an avid runner, did pilates, overall exercise. This came out of nowhere. My Lyrica dose is very low, but I evidently needed it."

For Neuropathic Pain "I decided to give Lyrica a second chance after surgery for cord compression at C4-C6 didn’t relieve pain and actually aggravated things. New herniation above and below the level of injury and surgery. Continued cervical myelopathy diagnosis. I’ve been tested and should have known better as I metabolize medicine differently. Lyrica hasn’t helped with pain at all. I am in a stupor most of the day and I am so hungry. I’ve gained 15 lbs that I couldn’t afford. I wake up every night with severe pins and needles, pain, rigidity, and the worst migraines & head pains. Moodiness and depression have cloaked me. I’m weaning off today. I thought surgery would eliminate the need for medications but pain has increased. A scary side effect is my legs go completely numb and I feel my legs have been less reliable since starting the medication. I have an extruded disc and nerve root compression in L5-S1, the medication has me feeling weaker, inebriated, confused, and sad."

For Fibromyalgia "I have suffered a very long time to the point where my bones ached so bad that it brought me to a complete halt in life. My mother also suffers as well as my daughter who is showing many of the symptoms that I had at her age. I have been on Lyrica for ten days now and cannot believe the difference it has made. I hope that this med can improve others' lives as well as it has mine, because fibromyalgia is a horrible thing to have to live with. No side effects so far. Here's hoping it is for you."

For Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy "I have neuropathic pain (burning, pins and needles, numbness) in the pads of my feet, non-diabetic. My internist prescribed Lyrica. Tried it for about a month - no help. Went to a Neurologist who prescribed Tegretol 400 mg Extended Release. Within a week, my pain went from a 10 to a 2. Been taking one a day for over ten years with no side effects. Originally, this med was developed for seizures, but patients with neuropathy as well as seizures told their Docs that it helped with the neuropathy, and thus it is now used for this condition. Highly recommend it. Initially, you may feel some sluggishness, but within a very short time, that goes away."

For Fibromyalgia "Lyrica genuinely gave me my life back. When it was first recommended to me, I was in the darkest place of my life. There were days when I didn't have the strength or energy to lift a coffee cup or a book. I was sleeping most of the day just to avoid the pain. And I didn't want to go on. There was an adjustment period with some very mild side effects (constipation and upset stomach at first), but once I hit my stride with Lyrica, everything changed. I'm not 'cured' but I actually have more good days than bad these days. I have a life again. My pain is manageable, and I don't feel hopeless."

For Neuralgia "I take a low dosage of Lyrica paired with another drug to manage my pain levels for Trigeminal Neuralgia. Nothing was working until I tried this one. I even had gamma knife surgery. I'm slowly getting my life back. I do get headaches, but it's much better than the pain in my face. Without Lyrica I'd have no hope left."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have used Lyrica for over 4 years now. It has worked great. Before I started taking it, I was getting lightning bolt pains all through my legs - it was awful. I have not had any type of side effects. Now they gave me Pregabalin generic instead and my lightning bolt pains have started to come back. :-("

For Neuralgia "For the last 22 years, I have been suffering from severe trigeminal neuralgia. I had the alcohol block as well as the Gamma Knife procedures, but to no avail. Help came when I was given a high dosage of Lyrica in combination with Carbatrol. With time, I was able to reduce it to half of the quantity of both medications. For the last 8-9 years, I have been taking 900 mg of Lyrica and 600 mg of Tegretol. Before Lyrica, I was disabled. I couldn't talk, eat, open and close my eyes, touch my face, shave, have a haircut, or have my teeth cleaned. The list is too long. Basically, nothing could touch or move on the right side of my face. When I tried to eat, tears would stream down my face. I have been taking Lyrica since February 2002, and it saved my life."

For Neuropathic Pain "I started Lyrica 3 months ago because previous medication didn't do anything for my pain. I'm taking a dose of 100mg 3 times a day for numbness, weakness, and chronic pain from DDD, but fibromyalgia is also a possibility. Within 3 days, my stomach blew up like an inflated tire and hasn't gone down since. I have an increased appetite, started feeling moody too, no menstrual period for 2 months now, but not sure if that's my age (47) or Lyrica. The pain in my back and arm is still the same, so is my numbness and weakness, but it has taken the edge off of it. I feel bloated and get emotional a lot too. I've gained 11 lbs in 3 months too. I'm going to speak to GP."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have both nerve pain and other joint and limb pain. But even with my injuries, I exercise every day, eat healthy, don’t drink or smoke. Twice I have been prescribed this drug for pain relief. Always being told it's a good drug, how can this be correct when the side effects make you dizzy (what can't stand, can't walk so no exercise). It increases appetite so you then put on weight because you can't prepare healthy food due to nausea. So again, you don't exercise, and it prevents proper nutrition. Beginning to think this is a way of further putting the blame on the patient. You won't be suffering from the initial conditions, but will have secondary medical harm that the medical profession can then blame on the patient. Instead of treating the initial problem."

For Fibromyalgia "I have suffered from Fibromyalgia for years and have regular flare-ups. The nerve pain in my jaw and neck was horrific. I found that even oxynorm and Tramal were not able to control the pain. This drug has changed my life dramatically. I feel almost normal again and am able to cope with my symptoms. I am on the lowest dose of 25mg, two times per day and combined with 10mg of Endep, I can now get a good night's sleep and no nerve pain. I have been advised to stay on this dosage for at least 3 months and then cut down to one per day and eventually cease taking it. As I am very sensitive to drugs, I was surprised that I have had no side effects. Thanks for giving my life back. I don't know how I would have survived without it?"

For Neuropathic Pain "Lyrica is a miracle drug! Severe neck pain after 3-level cervical fusion 19 years ago with another herniated disc now. Severe spinal stenosis on MRI. It makes you a little fuzzy-headed at first but that goes away...it has almost resolved the pain that I’m having. Absolute miracle drug without taking narcotics!"

For Neuropathic Pain "I tried this drug after recurrent nerve pain from a herniated disc (S1/L5). Could barely get out of bed. My doctor put me on 150mg once a day to start. I went home and took 1 on the Friday night to see how I would react as I'm a truck driver. After 30 mins, I felt like I was drunk. I couldn't put two words together and fell over. I crawled to my bed and had the wildest dreams of my life and woke the next day, swearing I'd never use it again. But after reading some of the reviews, I'm considering trying it again on a much smaller dose, say 25mg. Keep you all posted."

For Neuropathic Pain "Started taking Lyrica due to nerve damage suffered during surgery, 75mg twice a day. It provided relief for about 3 weeks, before pain returned. Have now been on 150mg twice a day for about 8 weeks - no pain, but the side effects are horrendous: dizziness, brain fog, and worst of all is incontinence. So I now have to decide whether to reduce the dose and go back to having pain but no side effects, or be pain-free but incontinent and out of it."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have chemo-induced neuropathy and was on Cymbalta for almost 5 years. My oncologist, really in my opinion, didn’t give me hardly any options as far as pain relief goes, so I went to a pain management doctor and started on Lyrica (pregabalin). I am currently taking 300 mg twice a day. My side effects are slight, and my pain level has decreased. During this time, I weaned myself off the Cymbalta. We had talked about other meds that deal specifically with seizures, but the conversation hasn’t gone any further. I am hoping this works so I can go walking without having pain in my feet."

For Fibromyalgia "I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease in 1999, and then in 2009 I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis, Neuropathy & Sciatica. I was practically crippled and couldn't walk by 2011. My doctor decided to try me on Lyrica and I can say with 100% truth and honesty that 4 days after I started it, on just 75mg a day, I can walk again. I am still walking now in 2013 but just in short jaunts. I'm glad this pill exists."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have a lot of nerve damage, pinched nerves, sciatic nerve damage, restless leg syndrome from head to toe, and nothing worked for these. The nerve damage got so bad, I spoke to my doctor about it and he prescribed Lyrica, which took care of all the nerve damage. At first, probably the first 2 months, the only side effect I had was a little swelling of my hands. Lyrica was a wonder miracle for me. The doctor had me on it for over 3 years with no problems, then my insurance refuses to pay for it now because a 30-day supply is $900. They wanted to give me Neurontin, which I am allergic to. Now all the nerve pain is back and worse. I want the Lyrica back and would recommend it to anyone."

For Fibromyalgia "The muscle pain I was feeling lasted for years. When I saw that commercial for Lyrica, a tear came down my cheek because I could relate to what the commercial was about. I started taking Lyrica and I feel like I have been given my life back. My muscle tension and pain have reduced so much I am moving around and LIVING my life again. I even danced in the house today! I think Lyrica has done what it was meant to do. I am proof that it can work for fibromyalgia. Thanks for making Lyrica."

For Fibromyalgia "Taking Lyrica relieves my fibromyalgia symptoms literally in days, and the pain relief from that is amazing. Unfortunately, I can't sleep. I get red, sore eyes, water retention, constipation, irritated bladder, passing water much more frequently. Pelvic pain, sore gums, cramps, excess wind, bloated stomach, runny nose. These side effects occur as quickly as the pain from fibromyalgia goes."

For Fibromyalgia "So far it has been GREAT!! I have been on it for 3 weeks now and I finally have pain relief. I was able to get up off of the floor while playing with the kids with no help. So far I have had little side effects that are bad. Not sure if it is the medicine or just that I feel so much better but I have more energy and have been able to do things for long periods of time. I have lost 4 pounds and it curbs my appetite. I no longer feel hungry at bedtime and I sleep so much better. I do feel like I am a bit wired all the time but it doesn't affect me badly."

For Fibromyalgia "I have been on Lyrica for almost a year now and can say that it has helped tremendously. I am very active in trying to keep the fibromyalgia pain as controlled as possible and just not been able to get to a plateau of any type. After a rough adjustment period of about 5 wks, I noticed a drastic change in fibro pain. I have gained a significant amount of weight, but over the last three months have been able to maintain. Now I am able to start losing the weight but have to be very careful to not take in complex carbohydrates or sugars in the afternoon or evening. I have gone to an almost vegetarian-style diet and have noticed that the weight just starts to come off with ease but slowly. My balance and vision are the only consistent side effects that I have."
